This time of year is not called the silly season for nothing. We wait until November and December to celebrate every thing or activity we have done in the whole year and then try to see every single friend and relative we have in two short months. I am in favour of a mass movement to spread things out over 12 months rather than 2!
In all seriousness though this time of year is crazy. And for many, it highlights the stress we are under and adds additional pressure. Almost every single person I speak to says they are stressed and most are anxious too. It’s epidemic. We can’t opt out of life, although many of us would like to. Short of upping sticks and moving to a remote piece of land away from everyone and everything, this is the life we need to lead.
We have responsibilities and commitments and most of the time we embrace this. We want to be part of a community- home, work and school. So it’s a matter of finding ways to destress and live life from a place of calm.
The good news is that there ARE ways to support yourself naturally. Mindfulness, exercise, sleep and clean eating will all help. And so will essential oils. Here are a few little tricks to have up your sleeve to help with overwhelm, stress or anxiety….
Stressed & Frazzled Kiddies
It’s near the end of the 4th term and everyone is tired especially school-age children. This is a great blend to diffuse when they get home from school- it soothes and calms! 2 drops of Bergamot, 2 drops of Eucalyptus and 2 drops of Elevation in your diffuser
Make up a 10ml roller or Elevation and Balance ( 5 drops of each and fill the rest of the roller with Fractionated Coconut oil) and apply liberally. Or diffuse 2 drops of each in your diffuser.
When Panic Rises
1 drop of Breathe/ Easy Air and 1 drop of Balance in the palms of your hands. Rub your hands together and cup your hands over your face- inhale slowly a couple of times and rub the remainder on the back of your neck.
10 drops each of Serenity/ Lavender Peace & Balance in a roller and use as perfume. On your wrists, neck, and over the heart.
5 drops of Balance, 3 drops of Patchouli, 5 drops of Serenity/ Lavender Peace, 7 drops of Lavender & 3 drops of Vetiver in a 10ml roller ball filled with Fractionated Coconut oil. Apply to the soles of the feet and up the spine. Roll in your palms, rub your palms together and breathe in slowly.
Lift, Calm and Soothe
6 drops of Sandalwood, 6 drops of Ylang Ylang, 6 drops of Cypress, 6 drops of Bergamot & 6 drops of Black Pepper in a 10ml roller ball filled with Fractionated Coconut oil. Apply to the soles of the feet and up the spine. Roll in your palms, rub your palms together and breathe in slowly.
Of course you can’t go wrong with the “Mood Matrix”! This was my saving grace during the most stressful time of my life….7 drops of Elevation, 7 drops of Serenity/ Lavender Peace, 7 drops of Balance & 7 drops of Citrus Bliss in a 10ml roller ball filled with Fractionated Coconut oil. Apply to the soles of the feet and up the spine. Roll in your palms, rub your palms together and breathe in slowly.
Use any of these and you will notice the difference! It does need consistency though so if you can make at least one of these blends a part of your routine over the next few weeks, you will definately be calmer and more centered. That’s got to be a good thing x
